Limoncello is an Italian lemon liqueur mainly produced in Southern Italy, especially in the region around the Gulf of Naples, the Sorrentine Peninsula and the coast of Amalfi, and islands of Procida, Ischia, and Capri.
The Izzi’s family began the production of liqueurs in 1903, thanks to the passion for chemistry and herbalism of the young Vincenzo, refined confectioner of Fondi, who experimented and extracted from grasses, seeds and roots an infusion absolutely tonic and digestive .
The effective digestive action of the Amaro Eupeptico is guaranteed by the value of the fluid extracts of vegetable essences and by the accurate handicraft production.
The Physics and Chemistry Academy of Palermo, recognizing the tonic and digestive qualities and the originality of the recipe of the Eupeptico Amaro, nominated Vincenzo Izzi Official of the Academy with Cross to the Merit for industrial special merit in 1918.
Meanwhile the Eupeptico Amaro changed name, becoming at first “Erbiz Amaro” and finally “Erbes Amaro”.
Amaro Erbes is the latest name that still today identifies the liqueur produced by the Izzi’s family that, with the fourth generation represented by Riccardo and Alessandro, maintains unchanged the passion begun more than one century ago from the great-grandfather Vincenzo.
The Izzi Brothers, strong of the teachings handed down from generation to generation, aim to underline one of the principal values of Izzi’s Factory of Liqueurs: the strong relationship between the century tradition and, at the same time, the never-ending attention to the new demands of their own clients.
