    Samuel Adams Boston Lager

This go-to beer started it all. Samuel Adams Boston Lager helped lead the American beer revolution, reviving a passion for full-flavored brews that are robust and rich with character.  Since 1984, Samuel Adams Boston Lager has used only the finest hand-selected ingredients to create this perfectly balanced and complex original brew.

    Samuel Adams

The Boston Brewery is where all of our beers get their start, with the exception of Boston Lager, which was born in our founder Jim Koch’s kitchen. It is the smallest of our three breweries (the others are in Cincinnati, OH and Lehigh Valley, PA – Please note these two breweries are not open for public tours/tastings.) but it is the most important. The Boston Brewery is akin to a test kitchen – it’s where we try out new ingredients, and brew specialty beers that are available only in the Boston area or in our Brewery tasting rooms. When you visit us for a tour, you may have the opportunity to try a beer that you’ll never get to try again or maybe one that you’ll be able to pick up in a six-pack a year down the road. We’re constantly innovating and pushing the boundaries of brewing to make sure that from the ingredients to the glass, every pint of Samuel Adams beer is as good (if not better) than the last.

The Boston Beer Company is America’s leading brewer…

The Boston Beer Company is America’s leading brewer of handcrafted, full-flavored craft beers. Founder and Brewer, Jim Koch, brews Samuel Adams® craft beers using the time honored traditional four-vessel brewing process, and the world’s finest all-natural ingredients. With over 30 distinctive, award-winning styles of craft beer, Samuel Adams offers discerning beer drinkers a variety of brews. The brewery has won more awards in international beer tasting competitions in the last five years than any other craft beer brewery in the world.

The Order of the Knights of Columbus 1646 (founded in 1882 by Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney) is a Catholic family, fraternal, and service organization. The Knights of Columbus have four Degrees which exemplify the Catholic virtues of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.

Wappingers Council #1646, which was chartered in 1912, is aligned with is St. Mary’s Parish, Wappingers Falls. It has provided charitable services for St. Mary’s Church and school and other local organizations since its beginning, more than a hundred years ago. Some of our activities include providing scholarships for St Mary’s students, donating food baskets for local families, sponsoring a Children’s Christmas Party, maintaining the Monument for the Unborn in St Mary’s Cemetery, providing financial assistance to seminarians, and supporting the St. Mary’s Respect for Life Committee. Wappingers Council #1646 teams up with other councils in the Hudson Valley Chapter to do charitable work which is too big for one council. For example, we support Special Olympics, and have sent ill children to the Marian Shrine in Lourdes, France.

The most visible Knights of Columbus

Wappingers Assembly #0770, which consists of 4th Degree Knights, is known for the Color Corps – the most visible Knights of Columbus. In addition to participating in the monthly Mass for the deceased members of our council, they represent the Knights of Columbus at numerous civic functions such as parades and memorial services. They assisted Popes when they visited the United Stated, and Color Corps from our Assembly stood guard over Mother Theresa’s relics at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Locally, they stand guard at the wakes of deceased members, and annually serve a barbecue for veterans at Castle Point Veterans’ Hospital.

More information about the Wappingers Council of the K of C, including contact numbers, can be found on the website, http://www.kofc1646.org; click “Newsletter” at the top of the screen.
