A live music venue? A cocktail bar? A local café for casual American fare? A private party venue? We’re all of that and more!
Since our inception in 1996, Prohibition NYC has been a staple on the Upper West Side, offering something for everyone in a cool, classy setting with a retro prohibition vibe.
As most great ideas do, ours began over a beer as five UWS friends got together, sketched out their perfect hangout and realizing it didn’t yet exist, decided to create it: live music every night of the week, drinks & casual fare – all served up in a warm, welcoming atmosphere that harkened back to the Prohibition era.
In the last 20 years, we’ve had hundreds of musicians grace our stage – from fresh, new talent to headliners to legends – playing everything from rock to pop, reggae to hip hop, jazz to soul – and you never know who might show up for Open Mic Night!
Our cocktail menu changes seasonally, our Happy Hour specials can’t be beat.
So come on over, grab a high top & a cocktail and stay for a while. We look forward to welcoming YOU!
